About this job (Engineer and Analyst):
- Research, evaluate, and perform technical and economic analysis on energy efficiency technologies, projects, and programs
- Perform computer-related functions such as spreadsheet development, database compilation, and data analysis
- Evaluate program-level and project-level factors, including cost-effectiveness analysis and market considerations
- Compile and write technical and program reports
- Provide input on DSM/USB program planning, design, acquisition targets, and budgets
- Maintain accurate DSM/USB program records, databases, and documentation
- Serve as a primary or supporting contact for DSM/USB programs
- Interact with external technical advisory committees and other stakeholders as needed
- Develop and manage requests for proposals, evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and monitor contractor performance
- Monitor program performance relative to established acquisition targets and budgets
- Support the development of DSM/USB regulatory filings
- Other duties as assigned
- Traveling up to 15% of time

Engineering position will also include the following duties:
- Perform engineering analysis related to energy efficiency technologies and program design
- Address technical challenges that arise during program development and implementation
- Provide technical expertise to support complex DSM initiatives
- Apply engineering principles to evaluate equipment performance, system impacts, and customer installations
- Support technical documentation and regulatory requirements requiring engineering review

- Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
- Current Professional Engineer’s License or ability to obtain one is preferred
- Analyst: A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, finance, marketing, or a related field required
- An interest in mechanical work and/or relevant experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to changing priorities, and committed to consistently providing excellent customer service
- General understanding of natural gas and electric utility systems preferred
- Familiarity with underlying concepts as well as challenges associated with utility-operated DSM programs
- Good working knowledge of economic analysis and energy-related concepts and calculations
- Knowledge of current Montana building codes is preferred
- Working knowledge and experience in construction and design preferred
- Working knowledge and experience with residential and commercial lighting, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment design, installation, and maintenance
- Demonstrate experience with Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
