Finance Manager/Officer

We are seeking finance professionals with relevant tertiary qualifications and Commonwealth financial management experience to support a complex ICT program in a large Federal Government agency.

To be successful in this role you will be familiar with the legislation, rules, accounting standards and guidance relevant to departmental appropriations, including current Estimates Memoranda located in Central Budget Management System (CBMS), and have hands-on experience managing funds to maintain alignment with approved budgets and government priorities.

The finance team will monitor spend against budget for multiple projects, maintaining a program-level budget, forecast, and resource forecast as well as undertaking end of month reconciliation, reporting and co-ordination with the department’s finance division.

Clearance: Both of the below roles require a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance or higher.

Finance Manager

The Finance Manager is responsible for financial governance, budgeting, and forecasting across the program.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and managing the program budget and financial controls.

• Monitoring expenditure, forecasts, and financial risks.

• Supporting business case development and financial reporting.

• Ensuring compliance with Commonwealth and departmental financial policies and standards.

Finance Officer

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer provides operational financial administration support for the program.

Responsibilities include:

• Processing invoices, commitments, and financial transactions.

• Maintaining financial records and tracking expenditure.

• Supporting monthly financial reporting and reconciliations.

• Liaising with finance areas and suppliers as required.
