ABOUT JOB

Join a respected Federal Government organisation that plays an important role in delivering evidence-based insights and services that support Australians. Working within a collaborative finance team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to critical financial operations while developing your expertise across revenue, treasury and financial reporting functions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing end-to-end accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, receipting and debt management
• Administering revenue contracts and monitoring key milestones, renewals and compliance requirements
• Preparing bank, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing accounting journals and supporting month-end and year-end reporting activities
• Monitoring cash balances and preparing cash flow forecasts
• Supporting treasury functions, including investment administration and reporting
• Assisting with internal and external audits by providing reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and finance process enhancements

This position is based in Canberra, ACT and offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of finance activities within a supportive team environment.

To be successful in this  Finance Officer position, you’ll bring:

• Previous experience in financial administration, accounts receivable, treasury or financial reporting
• Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate outcomes
• An understanding of financial controls, governance, compliance and audit requirements
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience using financial systems and an interest in process improvement and automation
• Previous APS or government experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
