    JOB  DETAILS

    What you’ll be doing

    • Lead concept, FEED, and detailed design for LV/HV distribution systems: SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, earthing layouts, cable schedules
    • Engineer and specify equipment including LV/HV switchboards, MCCs, RMUs, switchyards (33/66/132 kV), UPS and battery systems, transformers, cables, lighting, surge protection
    • Deliver power system studies and reports: load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonics and power quality, dynamic studies
    • Develop protection philosophies, relay settings files, and coordination curves, support FAT and SAT for protection and control schemes
    • Perform earthing and lightning protection design, including touch and step voltage assessment
    • Ensure compliance with relevant AS/NZS and IEC standards, and applicable legislation including Queensland electrical safety requirements
    • Coordinate across disciplines and support construction, commissioning, energisation plans, RFIs, as builts, and handover documentation
    • Contribute to proposals, value engineering, optioneering, and client engagement
    • Mentor and supervise team members, support QA, peer reviews, and continuous improvement

    Key deliverables you’ll own

    • SLDs, protection SLDs, relay I/O and logic diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams
    • Datasheets, specifications, load lists, cable schedules, earthing and lightning layouts
    • Study reports and design calculations (cable sizing, voltage drop, transformer sizing, short circuit, earthing, battery autonomy, heat rise considerations)
    • Technical bid evaluations, design review records, compliance matrices, commissioning support documentation

    What you’ll bring to the role

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • IEPNG registration
    • 15+ years’ industry experience, or recognised specialist capability in power systems, protection, and LV/HV design
    • Strong working knowledge of Australian legislation, regulations, and standards
    • CPEng preferred, RPEQ required if QLD based or delivering work for Queensland
    • Proficiency with power system tools such as ETAP and SKM PTW
    • Clear technical communication, confident stakeholder engagement, and the ability to lead and mentor a small team.
