As an Analyst – Platforms Tax, you’ll act as a key subject matter expert in member and investor tax records. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring North platform tax calculations, processes and reporting remain compliant with tax legislation and documented procedures while supporting operational excellence across the business.
In this role, you will:
- Processing tax profiling of investment income ensuring the income is reported accurately in the tax reporting outputs of the platform including IDPS tax statements, annual tax statements, AIIR reporting to ATO and other regulatory reporting.
- Support system implementation and testing of corporate action tax outcomes
- Validate cost base impacts and investor reporting consequences
- Respond to ad-hoc tax queries from the North Service Centre while helping uplift tax capability across Operations teams.
- Conduct testing of North platform changes and software releases to ensure tax calculations remain compliant with documented procedures.
- Monitor and test tax calculation batch jobs to ensure correct outcomes.
- Support the operational implementation of tax law updates in partnership with Group Tax.
- Ensure accuracy of annual IDPS tax statements and taxable income reporting.
- Review and test annual tax reporting obligations, including AIIR reporting.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure system and product changes maintain tax correctness.
- Maintain tax procedure documentation and contribute to broader organisational tax capability.
What you will bring to the team
Ideally, you will bring the following experience and capabilities:
- Experience in a tax, accounting, financial services or related professional role within a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
- Knowledge of wealth management products and financial planning processes.
- Understanding of Australian tax and accounting principles.
- Understanding of AMIT / AMMA and SDS tax components, AMIT cost base adjustments and their downstream impacts
- Knowledge of financial services regulatory and compliance obligations.
- Understanding of superannuation tax rules, including contribution caps, preservation, PAYG withholding and pension standards will be highly regarded.
- SQL skills will be advantageous.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, tax, finance or a related discipline, or a willingness to undertake further study.
