    JOB  DETAILS

    About the opportunity

Working in a cross-functional, agile team, the Engineer delivers, supports, and continuously improves high-quality technology solutions that create meaningful outcomes for the Bank and its customers. This role is a hands-on technical specialist responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core security and cloud infrastructure that protects our data, systems, and assets from sophisticated cyber threats.

As part of our shift toward a modern technology organization, you will help us operate through empowered, customer-focused teams measured by their ability to deliver safely, quickly, and reliably. You will go beyond just writing code to help define problems, design secure solutions, and work collaboratively to enable rapid, safe delivery in our cloud environments.

In this role you’ll get to…

    • Build & Connect Multi-Cloud Networks:  Get hands-on with configuring and maintaining modern network topologies. You will manage automated VPC provisioning, subnetting, Transit Gateway/Interconnect routing, secure ingress/egress pathways, and hybrid connectivity across GCP and AWS.
    • Write Production-Grade IaC & Automation:  Develop, test, and maintain robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to completely automate our infrastructure provisioning.
    • Embed Automated Guardrails:  Integrate Policy as Code (PaC) directly into our CI/CD pipelines to programmatically enforce security standards, automatically catching and blocking misconfigurations before they reach production.
    • Implement Hands-on Observability:  Set up and manage automated infrastructure telemetry solutions. You will configure automated log ingestion, metric scraping, and threshold alerting using Google Cloud Operations Suite, AWS-native monitoring, or open-source tooling (Prometheus/Grafana).
    • Build Agentic-Ready Infrastructure:  Help design and establish automated landing zone primitives and IaC standards designed for secure execution by autonomous AI agents.
    • Drive PIRs & Operational Reliability:  Partner with platform teams to conduct thorough Post Incident Reviews (PIRs), using those insights to design and build automation that prevents repeat failures, reduces operational toil, and continually hardens the platform.

What you’ll bring to the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

    • A Hands-on Automation Focus:  Practical experience in a platform engineering role, with a strong track record of using code and automation to solve operational challenges.
    • Practical Cross-Cloud Networking Skills:  Solid, hands-on experience in GCP (primary) and exposure to AWS, with a strong operational understanding of routing, Shared VPCs, Transit Gateways, NAT, load balancing, firewalls, and DNS.
    • Strong Terraform & Infrastructure Automation:  Production-grade proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation. You are comfortable designing highly reusable modules, managing remote state files and integrating IaC into automated deployment pipelines.
    • Pipeline Security Automation:  Experience implementing Policy as Code (e.g., OPA, Sentinel, tfsec) within CI/CD pipelines to automatically validate security compliance.
    • Regulated Industry & PIR Exposure:  Experience working within regulated environments (such as financial services), a solid understanding of granular IAM, and experience contributing to Post Incident Reviews (PIRs) to drive continuous platform improvement.
