Requirements
- 5–7+ years’ experience in cost estimation, financial modelling, or forecasting within Defence, government, or complex project environments
- Strong understanding of Defence financial management, costing frameworks, and procurement processes
- Proven experience in financial forecasting and communicating financial insights for large-scale programs
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formula development, modelling, and forecasting and data visualisation
- Australian Citizenship and NV1 Security Clearance essential
Responsibilities
- Support the financial management of a major Defence project, including the management of project forecasts, cost estimates, and cost models
- Analyse cost drivers, trends, and variances to provide clear, actionable financial insights
- Provide trusted financial and commercial advice to project teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders
- Contribute to procurement activities, including financial analysis for proposals and tender processes
- Ensure alignment with Defence financial frameworks, policies, and governance requirements
- Drive improvements in project financial management tools, processes, and reporting capability
- Build strong working relationships to support high-quality, timely program outcomes
Desired Qualifications
- Desirable experience with data visualisation and business intelligence reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI)
