Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot and optimise PLC, SCADA and associated control systems.
- Provide technical support for automated manufacturing and processing plant operations.
- Diagnose and resolve control system faults to maximise plant reliability and availability.
- Support plant upgrades, capital projects, commissioning and system enhancements.
- Diagnose and maintain operational networks and associated hardware.
- Work collaboratively with Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, maintenance teams and IT/OT specialists.
- Develop and implement control strategies that improve operational performance and efficiency.
- Assist with maintaining production, environmental and performance reporting systems.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across automation and control systems servicing heavy industrial manufacturing equipment as well as high speed packaging equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Contribute technical expertise to engineering projects and asset management initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated and technically capable Control Systems Engineer with experience supporting industrial automation environments. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working collaboratively with operational teams and driving continuous improvement outcomes.
You Will Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical, Mechatronic, Automation or Control Systems Engineering.
- Experience working with PLC and SCADA systems within manufacturing, processing, mining, utilities or heavy industry environments.
- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience delivering automation projects, system upgrades and process improvements.
- Understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation and process control principles.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
