Requirements
- Experience leading high-performing engineering squads delivering customer-facing products.
- Strong technical depth in native mobile development on iOS and/or Android, with the ability to lead with credibility.
- A product mindset and comfort owning problems rather than only executing requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to coach engineers and build strong teams.
- Experience embedding build-and-run ownership, reliability, observability, and secure engineering practices.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence Product, Design, and broader stakeholders.
- Curiosity for modern approaches such as AI-assisted development, automation, and platform thinking.
- Experience with some of the listed technologies, including Android, Kotlin, Java, iOS, Swift, Objective-C, .NET, C#, JavaScript runtime development with Node.js, APIs, React, TypeScript, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus, Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, automated testing, monitoring, operational readiness, secure design, identity, and encryption.
Responsibilities
- Lead a native mobile squad as a hands-on Engineering Manager and Squad Tech Lead.
- Lead the squad to solve meaningful customer problems end-to-end and own customer outcomes.
- Partner with Product and Design in a product trio to shape solutions.
- Contribute to architecture and critical code paths while using modern tooling, including artificial intelligence, to accelerate delivery and reduce manual effort.
- Ensure reliability, observability, and operational excellence are embedded from the beginning.
- Coach and grow engineers by developing capability, performance, and career pathways within the squad.
- Drive modern engineering practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery, test automation, mobile excellence, and safe, frequent releases.
- Make pragmatic decisions that balance speed, quality, risk, and long-term platform health.
- Foster learning, experimentation, and iteration.
- Set technical direction, unblock progress, and ensure the squad delivers high-quality, resilient software at scale.
