This is an opportunity to join a well-established global organisation within the financial services sector where finance is viewed as a genuine business partner. Reporting directly to an experienced CFO, you’ll step into a highly visible position where your work will influence financial reporting, controls and process improvement across both the Australian and New Zealand businesses. The role is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to make a real impact from day one.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own key components of the month-end and year-end close process;
• Prepare journals, reconciliations and financial reporting packs;
• Complete complex balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances;
• Manage GST, BAS and tax reconciliations across Australia and New Zealand;
• Support statutory reporting and group reporting requirements;
• Work closely with auditors and external advisers;
• Assist with accounting across lending, funding facilities, treasury and financial instruments; and
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and reduce manual effort.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

• CA or CPA qualification;
• Previous experience within the Australian financial services industry;
• Big 4 Audit or Advisory experience (highly regarded);
• Strong technical financial accounting skills and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards;
• Exposure to tax, audit and internal controls within a regulated environment;
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience highly desirable;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; and
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
