About the role:

• Prepare and maintain precise financial records and reports for both dealerships.
• Assist in budget management, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and dealership policies.
• Collaborate with various departments to enhance financial operations and reporting efficiency.
• Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Compile and analyse monthly profit and loss statements.
• Ensure accurate accruals for expenses and timely preparation of financial statements.
• Reconcile accounts to uphold accounting principles and identify potential risks.
• Oversee key accounting functions, including bank reconciliation, stock control, creditors, and debtor management.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state taxes, including GST, LCT and Stamp Duty
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Record, review and maintain Fringe Benefits Tax records

Skills and Experiences:
About you:

• Proven experience as a dealership accountant or in a similar financial role within the automotive sector.
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications that support the role
• Strong grasp of dealership operations and financial processes.
• Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with great attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of dealership management systems (ERA) is a plus.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
• A friendly and positive attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service
• Applicants must hold a valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
