JOB SUMMARY
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience building production frontend applications as a Software Engineer or equivalent.
- Strong hands-on experience with at least one of Vue, Angular, or React, with the ability to ramp quickly across the other two.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
- A track record of shipping high-quality, tested, maintainable frontend code in a team environment.
- Comfort working across a full serverless stack, including APIs, event-driven services, and cloud infrastructure, even when frontend is the primary focus.
- Strong written and verbal communication for working asynchronously with a fully distributed global team.
- Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions with appropriate guidance, and know when to ask for help.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship frontend features across Vue-based embeddable widgets and shopper-facing components, Angular-based merchant administration tools, and React-based Shopify integrations.
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions in collaboration with product, design, and backend engineering.
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable TypeScript and uphold high standards for personal and team code.
- Break down ambiguous and complex problems into shippable, well-scoped tasks; estimate, plan, and deliver against them.
- Own features end to end, including design, build, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to evolving the frontend architecture as the platform scales.
- Mentor other engineers, review code thoughtfully, and help raise the team’s technical standards.
- Collaborate with backend engineers across the serverless AWS stack to design clean, performant APIs and data flows.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AWS serverless services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CloudFront, S3, and SQS/SNS.
- Experience building embeddable widgets or software development kits that run on third-party sites such as Shopify storefronts.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Prior experience at an e-commerce, marketing technology, or Shopify-ecosystem company.
