    Our client Work space is looking for a full-time Accountant to join their Partner Accounting team in Melbourne. The role requires 1-2 years of experience, assisting in the completion of tax compliance processes, preparation of financial statements, and managing client data with strict confidentiality.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the accountants in the completion of accounting and tax compliance processes.

    • Prepare electronic work papers for external accountants.
    • Ensure confidentiality of partner data is maintained.
    • Attend meetings with accountants and external advisors as required.

    Job description
    The Role

    A full‑time opportunity exists for an Accountant with 1‑2 years’ experience to join our Partner Accounting team, working onsite in the Melbourne office. No timesheets are required for this role. In this role, you will support the Partner Accounting Team who provide services to the firm’s partners with personal accounting, taxation and cash‑flow matters. The team prepares high‑quality financial accounts and tax reconciliations for ABL partners’ external accountants, helping to streamline the tax compliance process. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Assisting the accountants in the completion of the partners and their associated entities’ accounting and tax compliance processes;
    • Preparation of draft financial statements using Class Accounting software, tax reconciliations and tax return positions;
    • Assisting with collecting source material from partners, their secretaries and/or third parties to enable preparation of draft financial accounts, tax reconciliations and tax returns;
    • Preparing electronic work papers and supporting documents to submit to external accountants;
    • Ensuring the security and confidentiality of each partner and their associated entities’ data is maintained;
    • Attending meetings with the accountants, external accountants and advisors as required; and
    • Other ad hoc tasks required.
    About You

    You have an Accounting degree with 1‑2 years of experience working in an accounting firm (tax preferred but not essential), providing services to high net wealth clients. Candidates undertaking CPA or CA studies are preferred. You have professional client management and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and experience working to strict deadlines and a passion for Excel.
