Requirements
- Six or more years of software engineering experience, with time spent as a tech lead or senior engineer accountable for a team’s output.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small, focused team building Heidi’s billing, payments, subscriptions, and entitlements systems; the engine behind how we monetise and scale.
- Stay hands-on in the code: ship features, review architecture, and set the technical bar.
- Own delivery end-to-end for your team’s roadmap, balancing velocity with reliability and operational rigour.
- Coach the engineers working with you. Run effective 1:1s on craft and project execution, unblock them, and raise the standard of the work.
- Partner with Product, Design, Finance, and Go-to-Market to turn revenue goals into shipped features.
- Shape how we run: hiring, onboarding, team rituals, on-call, and engineering practices as the team grows.
Desired Qualifications
- Stripe API at depth: Billing, Connect, webhooks, idempotency, reconciliation
- Usage-based billing: metering, rating, proration, invoice accuracy at scale
- Event-driven architecture or data pipelines for collecting usage metrics efficiently across a platform
- Integrations across the CRM, billing, and accounting stack (Salesforce, HubSpot, NetSuite, Xero, etc.)
- Designing for global payments: multi-currency, tax, and regional payment methods
- Using AI development workflows to ship faster without compromising quality
