Requirements
- Strong experience building and scaling native Android applications.
- Proven experience leading technical decisions and influencing engineering outcomes.
- Deep understanding of mobile architecture and software engineering best practices.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer-facing digital experiences.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Experience mentoring engineers and uplifting technical capability across teams.
- Proficiency in Kotlin.
- Knowledge of Jetpack Compose.
- Knowledge of modern Android architecture patterns.
- Knowledge of Model-View-ViewModel, Clean Architecture, and modular architectures.
- Knowledge of Coroutines and Flows.
- Knowledge of Android platform performance optimisation.
- Knowledge of secure mobile application development, API integration patterns, mobile performance optimisation, accessibility standards and best practices, modular and feature-based application architectures, full lifecycle mobile engineering including testing, deployment and production support.
- Knowledge of application monitoring and observability, DevSecOps practices, and modern Agile engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-performing Android applications and platform capabilities.
- Drive architecture decisions and establish engineering standards across mobile experiences.
- Champion platform excellence across performance, accessibility, security and reliability.
- Guide teams through the full engineering lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment and optimisation.
- Partner with backend, cloud and AI teams to build integrated customer experiences.
- Improve engineering practices, developer experience and platform capabilities.
- Mentor engineers and help grow mobile engineering capability across the organisation.
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, observability and continuous improvement.
