Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a software development role.
- A degree in a logical and/or analytical discipline such as software development, information technology, or aviation.
- Expertise in Python scripting or another programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
- Knowledge of industry standards for object-oriented programming.
- Working knowledge of the analysis, design, construction, and implementation process.
- Ability to translate complex business ideas and requirements into specifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, support groups, and clients and influence outcomes.
- Effective and succinct oral and written communication and business writing skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and develop applications that optimize the planning of flight and cabin crew schedules and rosters across the Qantas Group.
- Use the RAVE domain-specific language and Python to solve complex problems in planning and scheduling.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to find optimal solutions encompassing employee agreements, compliance rules, and business improvement initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of crew planning systems, including manpower planning, pairing, and rostering.
- Previous experience with the Jeppesen RAVE programming language.
