Requirements

Operational experience within aluminium smelting environments, with reduction line experience preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify emerging trends.
Ability to analyse information, build options and present recommendations based on data in a clear and timely manner.
Strong verbal communication skills and confidence engaging with a variety of operational and technical stakeholders.
Ability to adhere to procedures and standardised approaches.
A high level of computer literacy and the ability to learn and utilise new systems and technologies.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment calmly and professionally.
Flexibility to cover shift rosters and leave coverage when required.
Ability to work safely in accordance with health, safety and environment principles.

Responsibilities

Monitor reduction line operations and processes across Pacific Operations smelters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Identify operational and technical process deviations and support timely diagnosis and escalation activities.
Analyse process data, alarms and operational trends to support decision making and maintain operational stability.
Collaborate remotely with technical teams, supervisors and process controllers to support safe and effective operational outcomes.
Participate in technical discussions, toolbox meetings and operational reviews with Operations Centre and site teams.
Apply a standardised approach to work that promotes effective communication and operational excellence.
Build working relationships with operational and technical teams across multiple smelters.
Conduct site visits to improve process knowledge and foster collaboration with site teams.
Follow and apply Rio Tinto health, safety and environment principles.
