Role Description

The Financial Controller will oversee all core accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close, preparation of financial statements, and management of general ledger activities. The role includes managing financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and variance analysis to support informed decision-making. The Financial Controller will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, while optimizing financial processes and systems. Day-to-day responsibilities also include partnering with operational and leadership teams, supervising finance staff, preparing reports for management and stakeholders, and supporting audits and external advisors.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting background with experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements and maintaining accurate general ledger records.
• Solid finance and financial reporting skills, including budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data, perform variance and trend analysis, and provide clear insights and recommendations.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA) is highly regarded.
• Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with modern financial systems and tools.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain internal controls, manage cash flow, and support audits and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance team members.
• Experience in a similar controller or senior finance role, ideally within a multi-entity or project-based business environment.
