About the role

Fraud and scams are becoming more sophisticated every day, which means protecting our customers and the bank has never been more important. As a Fraud & Scams Operations Analyst, you’ll play a key role in helping us detect, prevent and respond to fraudulent activity while supporting customers through what can often be a stressful and vulnerable experience.

Working as part of our Financial Crime Operations team, you’ll investigate suspicious activity across a range of banking products and channels, reviewing alerts and identifying potential fraud and scam events before losses occur. You’ll take ownership of investigations from start to finish, gathering information, assessing risk, making informed decisions and working closely with internal teams and external parties where needed.

This role is about more than just investigations. You’ll help identify emerging fraud trends, contribute to recovery efforts where appropriate and ensure all activity is documented accurately and in line with regulatory and compliance requirements. Every day will bring something different, and your work will directly contribute to keeping our customers, colleagues and bank safe.

About you

You’ll bring previous experience from a fraud, scams, financial crime or banking operations environment, although we’re also open to hearing from people with branch banking experience who are looking to build a career in financial crime. Qualifications or studies in Criminology, Cybercrime or a related field will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you’re naturally curious and enjoy solving problems. You can analyse information, connect the dots and make sound decisions, even when working through complex situations. You’re organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

You’ll also be a strong communicator who can build positive relationships with stakeholders and explain complex information in a clear and professional way. Whether working independently or as part of a team, you’ll bring a collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for protecting customers from financial crime.
