JOB SUMMARY
Requirements
- Australian citizenship and hold an active NV-2 Australian Government Security Clearance (or be eligible to obtain) and be able to work in secure/regulated environments
- Strong hands-on Linux administration experience (Red Hat preferred)
- Scripting capability (Bash and/or Python)
- Ability to work in ITIL-based environment and manage incidents, problems, service requests, and maintain ITSM records
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux server environments (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) supporting mission-critical applications
- Plan and execute the migration of Linux operating systems and application services as part of an upcoming hardware refresh program
- Support system and application cutovers, validation, and post-migration stabilisation activities
- Monitor and improve application and platform availability, performance, and capacity
- Deliver deployments, upgrades, and patching across systems and applications, including change planning and validation
- Troubleshoot complex application, OS, and database-related issues
- Operate within ITIL processes to manage incidents, problems (RCA), service requests, and accurate ITSM records
Desired Qualifications
- RHCSA/RHCE certification desirable
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments
- Experience with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, or platform refresh activities highly regarded
- Exposure to database-backed applications; experience with Sybase is preferred but not essential
- Ability to quickly learn and support database technologies if not previously used
