    Key Responsibilities

    • Review daily maintenance expenditure to ensure costs are accurately coded, correctly allocated and supported by approved work orders.
    • Identify, investigate and report on cost leakage, including coding errors, repeat expenditure, unplanned maintenance, high-cost events and spend anomalies.
    • Partner with planners and operational teams to improve maintenance cost forecasting and planning accuracy.
    • Produce weekly and monthly reports analysing planned versus actual maintenance expenditure, highlighting trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
    • Develop dashboards and exception reporting that provide clear visibility of maintenance cost performance.
    • Benchmark maintenance costs across sites, fleets and teams to identify best practice and improvement opportunities.
    • Monitor and validate cost reduction initiatives, measuring realised savings and identifying additional opportunities.
    • Review procurement activity to ensure purchases align with approved maintenance plans – we buy to the plan, not for the shelf.
    • Maintain the integrity of maintenance cost data and contribute to improvements in reporting, systems and governance.
    • Build strong relationships across Planning, Procurement, Operations, Finance and Asset Management to support informed decision-making and accountability.

    About You

    You are naturally curious and enjoy solving problems through data. You can interpret complex information, identify meaningful trends and work collaboratively with operational teams to deliver practical business improvements.

    You’ll also bring:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience analysing large datasets and translating data into actionable insights.
    • Advanced skills in tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, advanced Excel or similar analytical platforms.
    • Experience with ERP and CMMS systems (such as AMT, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or equivalent).
    • A sound understanding of maintenance planning and maintenance cost structures.
    • Strong commercial and financial awareness.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through data.
    • Experience in maintenance, mining or heavy industry (highly regarded).

    Qualifications

    • Degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline (desirable).
