Requirements
- Experience working in electricity markets such as AEMO (NEM), ERCOT, PJM, or UK markets, ideally in a trading, asset optimization, or control room role
- Strong understanding of power market fundamentals, including dispatch dynamics, bidding strategies, and revenue drivers for energy assets
- Experience analyzing large energy datasets and extracting insights that support trading, operational, or commercial decisions
- Comfort working with data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, or similar analytics platforms
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to clearly communicate complex market insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical rigor
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
Responsibilities
- Analyze trading outcomes and asset performance across electricity markets
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue through better trading strategies, forecasting insights, or operational decisions
- Deliver actionable recommendations that help customers improve asset performance and increase revenue
- Work closely with customers to ensure they are successfully using Powerline’s tools to make better decisions
- Provide insights on market dynamics and emerging opportunities in wholesale electricity markets
- Work with engineers to improve dashboards, visualizations, and analytical tools used by traders and asset operators
- Provide ideas and feedback on how to improve simulations, forecasting models, and optimization algorithms
- Translate real-world trading workflows into product requirements and feature improvements
- Identify new analyses or tools that would help customers better understand and optimize their assets
Desired Qualifications
- Experience trading or optimizing battery storage assets or renewable portfolios
- Experience building dashboards, automated reports, or market analytics tools
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data analysis
