Requirements
- Relevant undergraduate qualification, with further postgraduate study or professional certification preferred
- Experience in a similar role within a multi-manager environment, superannuation fund, asset consultant or research house
- Knowledge of investment markets and asset classes, with an interest in listed equities solutions
- Analytical capability, including the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data, manage multiple priorities and communicate insights clearly
Responsibilities
- Support manager selection and portfolio construction activity across Mercer’s listed equity funds to help deliver investment objectives
- Prepare analysis and materials to support recommendations for the Chief Investment Officer, investment committees and other stakeholder groups
- Lead and participate in investment manager meetings as part of due diligence for existing and prospective investment strategies
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholder groups to support day-to-day fund management and clear communication on performance expectations and outcomes
- Respond to queries and requests relating to the funds from internal and external stakeholders
- Stay informed on industry and market developments and contribute to ongoing research and continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting manager research, due diligence or portfolio construction decisions
- Experience with multi-manager portfolio construction
- Ability to manage complex pieces of work independently and contribute practical solutions
- Written, verbal and presentation skills that support effective engagement with a range of stakeholders
- Curious mindset and sharp critical-thinking skills
