Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Have proven experience delivering software engineering projects from design through implementation and ongoing maintenance.
- Develop and optimise databases using SQL or similar technologies, including solutions for data integration.
- Use Git and GitHub confidently for code management, version control, and collaborative development workflows.
- Build modern web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript, Node.js, and contemporary web frameworks.
- Demonstrate self-management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills within multidisciplinary environments.
- Have current valid work rights for Australia.
- Obtain a Working with Children Check.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain databases and data lakes that securely store and retrieve diverse biological and clinical data.
- Develop software infrastructure to link pathogen, immune response, clinical, and epidemiological data at sample level.
- Implement data integration and sharing workflows that enable artificial intelligence and machine learning training and analytics within and beyond CGCPT.
- Partner with governance, ethics, executive, and research stakeholders to align data solutions with approvals and strategy.
- Contribute to grant proposals, presentations, seminars, and supervision activities that strengthen data science capacity.
