    What You’ll Be Doing

    As our Financial Accountant, you will:

    • Prepare month-end financial accounts and ensure timely close in line with reporting deadlines.
    • Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
    • Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors to ensure successful completion of audit deliverables.
    • Maintain the Related Parties Register and Bequests & Donations Register.
    • Prepare and post journals in Microsoft Dynamics 365, including accruals, prepayments, amortisations and corporate recharges.
    • Produce monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet commentary, highlighting key trends, risks and variances.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations supported by appropriate documentation.
    • Ensure accurate processing and approval of general ledger transactions, including payroll, operating transactions and recurring accruals.
    • Develop, document and improve accounting procedures and financial reporting frameworks.
    • Identify and implement finance process improvements, automation opportunities and system enhancements.
    • Respond to ad hoc financial queries and contribute to finance projects and organisational initiatives.

    You’ll Bring

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
    • CPA or CA qualification.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting or audit within a Big 4, second-tier accounting firm and/or a large, complex organisation.
    • Experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting external audits.
    • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
    • Experience using ERP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 highly regarded.
    • Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
    • Experience using AI and automation tools to improve finance processes and efficiency.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and resolve issues.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
    • Experience developing new processes and supporting finance transformation initiatives.
    • Understanding of shared services environments, corporate recharges and statutory reporting requirements.
    • A collaborative approach with the confidence to work independently when required.
    • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety principles and risk management practices.

    Nice to have

    • Experience within aged care, community services or family services.
    • Knowledge of property accounting and corporate financial functions.
    • Experience working in large-scale shared service environments.
