JOB SUMMARY
In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering theory and hands-on site leadership. Your mission is built on four core strategic pillars:
- Operational Integrity & Reliability: Manage the local site team and partner closely with stakeholders to maintain a continuous, highly reliable supply of quality-assured gases. You will coordinate daily routine maintenance and breakdown repairs with technical staff to meet production targets.
- Process Optimization & Innovation: Collaborate with Facility Managers, Support Managers, and other relevant stakeholders to design and implement plant efficiency programs. You will develop operational standards and KPIs to track plant performance, actively seeking and implementing new strategies to reduce operational costs.
- HSEQ Compliance & Stakeholder Relations: Champion our “zero harm” culture by ensuring all safety procedures are rigorously applied by local teams. You will manage documentation control, lead site audits, and serve as the primary on-site focal point for customers, regulatory bodies, and unions.
- Reporting & Corporate Governance: Drive the reporting framework for our Large Industries activities, delivering precise data regarding site reliability, availability, and overall process efficiency to support board reports and strategic decision-making.
We are looking for an analytical, solution-focused engineer who can work autonomously and handle competing operational demands. You will bring:
- Educational Foundation: A completed Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Industry Experience: Proven professional experience within the industrial gas industry, or similar heavy chemical/process manufacturing environments, with direct exposure to plant operations, distribution networks, or filling center
- Regulatory & Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of work health and safety standards, dangerous goods/substances handling, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to interpret extensive and varied technical instructions, complex safety rules, operating manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Leadership & Drive: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to managing on-site teams, coordinating contractors, and driving issues to completion.
