    Requirements
    • Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale backend platforms and distributed systems, with end-to-end ownership across architecture, delivery, reliability, and operational excellence.
    • Recognised technical leadership in domain-driven design, service decomposition, and platform modernisation, with experience transforming complex legacy environments into scalable, cloud-native service ecosystems.
    • Strong expertise across AWS, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, Kafka, EventBridge, serverless technologies, and modern integration patterns for high-volume, business-critical workloads.
    • Experience establishing engineering standards, architectural guardrails, reusable frameworks, developer tooling, and platform capabilities across multiple engineering teams.
    • Experience with DevSecOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery, automated testing, observability, site reliability engineering practices, resilience engineering, and secure-by-design principles.
    • Ability to contribute directly to solution design, coding, code reviews, technical decision-making, and resolution of complex performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
    • Full-stack and full-cycle engineering capability spanning backend platforms, user experiences, data, infrastructure, and operational concerns.
    • Experience leveraging AI-powered engineering practices, automation, and developer productivity tooling to improve engineering effectiveness, software quality, and delivery outcomes at scale.
    • Experience with several of the following technologies: C#, .NET Core, Python, Java, React, Next.js, distributed systems, microservices, domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, AWS, serverless services, REST APIs, GraphQL, CloudFormation, CDK, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, TDD, unit testing, integration testing, API testing, JMeter, Selenium, Postman, secure software development lifecycle, SonarQube, Snyk, OWASP security controls, Kafka, MSK, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Harness Engineering, spec-driven development, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or AWS Aurora.
    Responsibilities
    • Provide strategic and technical leadership across platform architecture, APIs, integrations, workflow orchestration, and distributed systems.
    • Build, own, and continually improve backend platforms, service domains, digital foundations, integrations, and platform services.
    • Shape engineering strategy and architecture across a large-scale lending technology ecosystem.
    • Design, code, review, and deliver secure, resilient, scalable solutions for business-critical lending capabilities.
    • Establish engineering standards, architectural guardrails, reusable frameworks, developer tooling, and platform capabilities that accelerate delivery across teams.
    • Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, SRE practices, resilience engineering, and secure-by-design engineering.
    • Resolve complex performance, scalability, and reliability challenges.
    • Influence engineering strategy beyond the immediate team, mentor senior engineers and technical leaders, and drive a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
