    Key Responsibilities

    1. SCADA System Design & Integration

    • Support the design, configuration, integration, and commissioning of SCADA systems for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
    • Review and validate SCADA architecture, communication networks, signal lists, interface control documents (ICD), and point mapping schedules.
    • Configure and troubleshoot communication interfaces between SCADA, EMS, PPC, PCS, BMS, Gateway RTU, protection relays, meters, and auxiliary systems.
    • Coordinate with internal R&D teams, SCADA vendors, EMS suppliers, and third-party integrators to ensure successful system integration.
    • Support implementation and validation of communication protocols including Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC UA, and MQTT where applicable.

    2. SCADA Commissioning & Testing

    • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and operational readiness testing of SCADA systems.
    • Verify point-to-point communications, alarm functionality, event logging, historian data, control commands, and system performance.
    • Perform troubleshooting of communication failures, signal quality issues, time synchronization problems, and control system interactions.
    • Support AEMO hold point testing activities, including validation of SCADA interfaces associated with AGC, FCAS, dispatch targets, ramp rate controls, and plant availability signals.
    • Assist with testing and validation of DNP3 quality flags, communication failover logic, heartbeat monitoring, and remote-control functions.

    3. Control System & Grid Integration Support

    • Coordinate integration between SCADA, EMS, PPC, Gateway RTU, and external market/operator interfaces.
    • Support implementation and validation of:
    • AGC (Automatic Generation Control)
    • FCAS / PFR functions
    • Ramp Rate Control
    • AVR / Reactive Power Control
    • Voltage Droop Functions
    • Dispatch Target Processing
    • Availability Calculations
    • Assist with troubleshooting control logic issues during commissioning and performance testing.
    • Support compliance activities related to AEMO, NSP, and Generator Registration requirements.

    4. Documentation & Quality Assurance

    • Review and maintain:
    • SCADA Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
    • Interface Control Documents (ICD)
    • Communication Matrixes
    • Point Lists
    • Test Procedures
    • Commissioning Reports
    • Defect Registers
    • Technical Change Requests

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in SCADA, EMS, control systems, renewable energy, or utility-scale infrastructure projects.
    • Strong understanding of:
    • SCADA system architecture
    • Industrial communication protocols
    • Power system monitoring and control
    • Utility-scale BESS operation
    • Network communications and cybersecurity fundamentals
