JOB SUMMARY
Requirements
- At least 7 years of technology-related sales, business development, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with government procurement and contracting processes.
- Experience working with and influencing senior-level stakeholders.
- Experience managing large, complex enterprise accounts or equivalent.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the digital and search landscape.
- Experience working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies for at least 3 years.
- Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent.
- Knowledge of security technology and concepts, including authentication, authorization, single sign-on, and cryptography.
- Australian government security clearance (NV1) or the ability to obtain one.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute account plans for assigned public-sector customers, driving revenue growth and cloud adoption.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders at the Director and SES levels across government agencies.
- Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification, proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, Professional Services, and Partners to deliver customer outcomes.
- Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value.
- Navigate government procurement processes, including panel arrangements, requests for proposals, requests for tenders, and standing offers.
- Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing, process improvement, and best-practice development.
- Represent AWS at industry events, customer meetings, and partner forums.
- Stay informed about public-sector trends, including digital strategy, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence/machine learning adoption.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
