Requirements
- Strong production experience with AWS infrastructure, including serverless systems, Lambda, DynamoDB, ECS Fargate, EventBridge, and Cloud Development Kit.
- Strong security expertise in backend and cloud systems, including secure architecture, identity and access management, and cloud security.
- Deep backend engineering experience designing and evolving microservices or distributed systems.
- A track record of owning architecture decisions rather than only implementing features against designs created by others.
- Familiarity with agent tooling concepts, including tool calling, MCP/tool integration, guardrails, evaluations, tracing and observability, and permissioning.
- Experience with TypeScript, React, and GitHub Actions.
- Full Australian work rights and current residence in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Own architecture decisions across DevSecOps, platform and reliability, data, and artificial intelligence infrastructure.
- Build secure-by-design practices into the platform, including identity and access management, cloud security, and secure engineering.
- Set standards for platform scaling, resilience, and reliability.
- Partner with the Data Engineer to build data lake and analytics capabilities.
- Develop artificial intelligence infrastructure, including model and agent integration, secure artificial intelligence data pipelines, and platform-level artificial intelligence guardrails.
- Contribute to hands-on feature development.
- Refactor code and reduce technical debt when possible.
Desired Qualifications
- AWS certifications, particularly AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional.
- Previous experience in the fintech, payments, or finance industry.
