Requirements
- Experience architecting mission-critical, high-transaction-volume environments.
- Experience with markets trading within a financial services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and explain technology from a customer perspective.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement, including collaboratively defining solution architecture.
- Experience developing solution architectures in hybrid legacy and cloud environments involving SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
- Experience across the full software development life cycle using traditional and agile methodologies.
- Experience developing non-functional requirements to support implementation of new or upgraded solutions.
- A B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Candidates must be legally authorised to work in Australia on a permanent basis without restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Participate as a practitioner and team member of the Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture Community of Practice.
- Design and evolve core systems supporting trading, market operations, and regulatory obligations.
- Work on reliable, high-performance, low-latency platforms supporting Australia’s financial markets.
- Lead and manage the design and development of solution architecture across multiple large-scale projects.
- Represent and champion solution architecture in governance forums and with stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership in producing technical solution designs, high-quality functional specifications, and other required technical documentation.
- Partner with Business Analysis, Delivery, Infrastructure, IT Service Ownership, Quality Engineering, Solution Engineering, and Testing functions.
- Own solution architecture and leverage internal enterprise platforms and vendor-based IT solutions while aligning solutions with Enterprise IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture principles.
- Work closely with Engineering to ensure delivered systems align with the Technology architectural strategy and principles of software integrity and reusability.
- Actively participate in the Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture Community of Practice.
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of networking infrastructure supporting low-latency and high-throughput trading environments.
- Strategy and architecture experience with legacy technology environments.
- Experience with cloud architecture and cloud-native design.
- High-level analytical capability applied to complex programs of work.
- Working knowledge of a fully integrated exchange environment.
- Experience executing high-impact, enterprise-wide strategic programs and initiatives
