JOB  SUMMARY

As a Staff Engineer – AI – Merchant Experience, you will build AI-powered applications and reusable engineering capabilities for merchant payment experiences, driving technical innovation within a leading Australian payments company.

Responsibilities:

* Design and build AI-powered features that improve merchant onboarding, support and payment experiences
* Develop reusable engineering frameworks and platforms for AI application development
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship across engineering teams
* Collaborate with product, data and design teams to identify and prioritise AI use cases

Qualifications Needed:

* Extensive software engineering experience with a focus on AI or machine learning applications
* Strong proficiency in backend engineering and modern AI/ML frameworks and APIs
* Experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers
* Understanding of payments or fintech contexts and merchant experience challenges
