As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the core software systems that power digital payments and money movement for a financial technology company, working within a collaborative engineering team in the Australian fintech sector.

Responsibilities:

* Architect and develop scalable, secure backend services and APIs that support real-time payment processing and money movement.

* Collaborate with product, compliance, and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

* Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion engineering best practices across the team.

* Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues to ensure high availability and reliability of payment systems.

Qualifications Needed:

* Extensive experience in software engineering, with strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, or Node.js).

* Proven track record of building and scaling distributed systems, preferably within payments, banking, or financial services.

* Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases, message queues, and cloud-native architectures.

* Strong knowledge of security best practices, API design, and regulatory compliance requirements in fintech.
